JAHSON IN JAMAICA ON THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT CARIBBEAN SUPERSTAR! Selected as Vice President for the Caribbean Urban Music Awards

Hi folks

I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, but we have been that busy, I’ve hardly had time to sit down and write about it all!!

So what’s been happening in Jahson’s world?

Well in December we had the big VIP party at Porters Bar. Another great night had by all, partying til the early hours, entertained by Jahson, Loren Ashley (reggae singer), as well as a number of other special guest PA’s.

We had the lovely Kaya Queen of Clubz on hand to present her latest calendar UK Stunners.  Jahson serenaded Kaya and a wonderful time was had by all. However we must now pass on some very sad news to you all.Kaya was involved in a car accident just before Valentines Day.

There were many prayers for her and well wishers, but unfortunately she was unable to pull through and she passed away on the 27th February at the age of 23. Our thoughts and love go out to her family at this time, and to Mikey Ragga, Kaya’s cousin, who was one of the Dj’s at the VIP party on Boxing Night, who brought Kaya into our lives.
We consider ourselves fortunate to have met her, even if it was only for that short time. Kaya was not only a model, but a TV presenter and club promoter, a very successful business woman, well known in the music industry and will be sadly missed by all, but most of all by her family and friends.  May she now rest in peace.

So what else has been happening?? Jahson will be working with Invincible and other well known artists in Jamaica to search for the next Caribbean superstar. The launch took place on March 3rd in Kingston at the Hilton Hotel, and the award ceremony is taking place on James Bond Beach,  Ocho Rios, Jamaica in April. He will be performing alongside Bobby Valentino, Collie Budz and others!

Jahson will be previewing his new single Hush Hush baby, which he has just produced with Third Dimension Studios , a company that have worked with Soul to Soul and other top artists, based in London.
Jahson is working on his new  video whilst in Jamaica, so keep your eyes on the site for news about this !

Jahson has also been named ambassador for the support for Darfur project. The project which has been created to help raise much needed exposure and financial support for the children in Darfur is attracting a lot of international media support from the high calibre of celebrities being signed up for the star studded concert  being held in London later on in the year.

Commenting on this, Jahson said:" I am very proud to be appointed as International Goodwill Ambassador. People in Darfur are in desperate need of help and we are going to bring a lot of celebrities and artists from around the world to get involved in solving this situation through a series of concerts and fund raising gigs around the world. We must all act now”.

Jahson, joins a list of celebrities including Russell Simmons, Leona Lewis, Jay-Z,Lemar, Sizzlaand many more all lending the voices and talents in support of the ‘Support for Darfur’ project.

The Support for Darfur project aims to offer long term self sustainable projects to help families over the next three years, but already plans  to go way beyond this.  We aim to raise £1millions for conflict-ravaged Darfur, western Sudan, as people continue to flee their homes despite a year-old ceasefire that was signed on 8th April 2004. There is an estimated two million displaced people, but also about the living conditions of those who have stayed behind in their villages and remain vulnerable to violations of international humanitarian law.

Jahson was in the news again

Jahson has appeared on Meridian television on the 29th February, click here to view.

He also did a radio interview for colourful radio, Echoes magazine and was interviewed by New Nation newspaper!

He will be appearing on the front page of Invincible magazine as their feature artist, if you would like copies, then please send us an email and we will arrange to get you a copy.

Jahson will be taking part in other major events throughout the year, British music week in September, the Urban Music Awards in November, as well as the album launch event for the Summer.

DECEMBER 2007 UPDATE

JAHSON ON THE RED CARPET AT THE KICKERS URBAN MUSIC AWARDS!

Hi folks, it’s your roving reporter again!!

Last month I mentioned that Jahson and his manager Carol from Hummingbird Entertainments Ltd were attending the Kickers Urban Music Awards in London. Well what a star studded occasion it was! UB40, Gabrielle, Linford Christie, Hill St Soul, (who were also sat on our table!), Nate James, Kele Le Roc were among a few of the famous that were there on the night. Some were nominated for awards, and also gave fantastic performances on the night.

We were able to make a lot of contacts with people in the industry, one of whom was with the organisers of the event, Mr Jordan Kensington of Invincible Media Group. They are now acting as our PR Company and we are looking forward to a good working relationship with them, and to taking part in the many national and international opportunities that they have lined up over the coming year. Jahson will be on invincible radio on Wednesday 12th December at 3pm being interviewed, so check him out online at www.invincibleradio.com

This month Jahson was also spotted rocking with the crowds at Beverley Knight’s concert in Folkestone! What a performance! “I was totally bowled over by her, and thought she was fantastic and an inspiration” says Jahson, who knows, could he be supporting her on her next tour?? Watch this space!

As we prepare for the festive season, Jahson wants to get you all in the party mood with another great VIP party night, taking place at Porters Bar on 26th December, from 9pm-5am! Jahson will be performing some of the tracks from his forthcoming album, and there will be some surprise guests in the house! The event is going to be filmed for a TV company, so don’t forget to look your best! There will also be some promotional giveaways on the night as well. Tickets are £12 in advance and £15 on the door, we have special booth tickets for £20 that seat 4-6 people and you get a bottle of free wine per booth. Check the gigs page for details.

OCTOBER UPDATE

Awards, VIP Parties, Beauty Pageants, TV appearances, is there no stopping this man!

Jahson continues to be a hit with audiences across the country

What a mammoth couple of months this has been, we’ve been so busy we missed a news update in September!

During September, Jahson performed at the Miss Trinidad and Tobago UK Pageant in London and as luck would have it the winner happened to live in Kent! I think Jahson must have brought her good luck! She was Miss Valenee Gosine, a local school teacher from Kent. Jahson gave a great performance, and the audience were dancing away.

His manager Carol Stewart was involved in the pre judging before the finals, this was an interesting experience , as a lot of people have negative views about beauty pageants, but both Carol and Jahson saw that this pageant was not just about the beauty but about the young women researching the country’s culture, and what they can bring to the country and how they intend to use their title afterwards and developing the young women’s self esteem and confidence.

During September, the video was played on Channel U, which gave a lot of exposure for the single and at the end of the month, Jahson performed at the official launch of Black History Month, his performance was seen on BBC South East and Meridian Television.

If that was not enough the next day Jahson and Carol were at a Press launch for the Kickers Urban Music Awards in London. The event was attended by UB40 Ali Campbell, Teri Walker and Jordan Kensington CEO Invincible Magazine, and TV. Jahson was interviewed by them, for their forthcoming TV station.

October as some of you may know was Black History Month, and Jahson was supporting Black History Month in Medway by lending his support to Medway African Caribbean Association, he performed at the Young Black Acheivers award event, where he launched his video and previewed songs from his forthcoming album.

The event was attended by over 300 people, and he shared the stage with Kele Le Roc, Tuggawar and 4Sure. He presented awards to young Black Acheivers with the President of the National Black Police Association and Kele Le Roc. The audience went crazy, he had them rocking in the aisles to Gimme Gimme!

After the show there was the official VIP after Party attended by over 200 people. And guess who popped in to say hi!! None other than Maxi Priest. Other special guests at the party included Natty B from Choice FM, 4Sure, Hughie Crawford ,owner of Artz Designer Wear and Image consultant to Jahson, who is also a talented singer/songwriter and brother of Miles Crawford . What a star studded night it was.

In November Jahson and Carol will be attending the Urban Music Awards as VIP’s! So watch the website next month for details!

Well I’m exhausted from talking about all that we’ve been up to just lately!! A big thank you to all of you that have supported Jahson either through attending his shows, buying the single or just through encouraging him or us in what we are trying to achieve!

AUGUST UPDATE

JAHSON GETS THE CROWD FEELING HOT HOT HOT AT NOTTINGHILL CARNIVAL

Jahson was a hit with revelers at the Nottinghill Carnival over the August Bank Holiday. Doing three live performances each day, one of which was on the Soca stage in front of nearly 200 people. He did live PA’s with Sound Systems; one of them was Studio One, with Choice FM DJ Natty B!

Jahson said “it was a great weekend, the crowds were fantastic, I performed on the Soca stage and with the Sounds systems which was great for me, as they are a part of my roots, so I felt like I was at home, and the crowd made me feel like I was back home! A real party atmosphere, real hot!”

And as if that was not enough Jahson did a press release with Salsa Wild at the Marriott at Bexley Heath, he performed in front of the organizers of the Miss Trinidad and Tobago Beauty Pageant and Culture show who enjoyed the show so much, they have asked him to perform at the Grand Finale at the end of September!!

Jahson is also supporting his local community of Kent during October, he will be performing at the launch of Black History Month at the St Georges Centre on Sunday September 30th, and he will also be performing at the Young Black Acheivers award, sharing the stage with Kele Le Roc on the 27th October.

Oh, and I forgot to mention…… Jahson happened to meet a living legend this month as well. None other than the Reverend Jesse Jackson!!!!

Jahson went along to the House of Lords with Medway African Caribbean Association’s Young people to visit the great man himself. He went along to help with the young people’s project.  “This was a great day for me, one I will never forget, and it was truly an honor to meet such a great man”

JULY UPDATE

GIMME GIMME VIDEO DEBUT on SKY TV STATION

Yes you heard right ! On Friday 20th July Jahson gave a live TV interview on BEN TV , which is on BSkyB Channel 148 or Channel 9.Check their website for details

It will be repeated on Monday 23rd July from 5-7 pm on the Lifestyle show, so stay tuned! Also it will be appearing on Channel U soon, so watch this space!! There’s no stopping him now.

The single is being played on radio stations across London, and getting great reviews, and the video looks great! We’ve made some great links recently, so watch this space, Jahson is definitely one to watch!
So for all of you who haven’t seen or booked him yet………. Well, you know what to do!

The single release is the week of the 23rd July and we shall be letting you know when it is available for download.

THAT'S A RAP

What a day, at long last, after months of searching for the perfect location, and months of planning, we finally managed to shoot the video for Gimme Gimme on Sunday 3rd July.

It was a scorching hot summer’s day, and we had a great turn out for the shoot, which took place in Thamesmead at Steve and Shirley’s place.

A massive thank you goes out to Steve and Shirley for letting us use their penthouse for the day.

All who were there agreed it was the perfect location and set the right mood for the video. We shot most of the scenes outside with lots of young people dancing, doing their thing, everyone had a great time, we even had two dogs that wanted to take part ! Jahson’s mom was also in the video!!! So it was a real family occasion.

We finished of the shoot with a nice relaxed party scene in the penthouse, and we had a few special guests drop in, The Drifters just happened to be passing by and joined in the party!

JUNE - STOP PRESS

Gimme Gimme does it again!!

Last month news page we mentioned that a couple from Kent were being filmed for a programme on Channel Four, the programme is You are What You Eat, they attend a Salsa Class run by Salsa Wild at Bexley Heath, and the tune was featured as part of the class that they attended which was filmed. Well guess what……..

The couple loved the track so much they chose it for their first dance at their wedding which was also being filmed by Channel Four, and to top it all off they had a Salsa Class during their wedding!!

As a thank you, Jahson sent then a signed copy of the single and a card for their wedding day, so a big congratulations goes out to Tasha and Owen, we wish them all then best and hope to see them soon!!

MAY 2007 NEWS UPDATE - JAHSON A HIT ACROSS LONDON !

It has been a busy couple of months for Jahson and his promoter Carol from Hummingbird Entertainments!

Last month saw Jahson host Singers Spot at Cottons in Islington, where got the crowd all up and dancing to some of the tracks from his forthcoming album, and sang some of your favourites, it’s amazing what the influence of a few rum punches can do!!

Jahson has also been seen out and about across London, singing at another top London Spot, which was hosted by Jeffrey Daniels, Ex Shalamar, which took place at Parker McMillan. At one point I thought Jahson was going to do the moonwalk with him, but he decided against it!! 

This was a great night, and Jahson got to perform a track by the Real Thing alongside the person that wrote the arrangement for the hit song “You to me are Everything” John Altman!! talk about coincidence!

Jahson also performed at a Love Music Hate Racism Festival in Kent at the end of April, and representatives from Sony were there, who were mightily impressed!! (Well why wouldn’t they be!J)

Then to top it all of this month Jahson was reunited with some of his friends from The Drifters, when they got together for a Gala Relaunch at The Fairfield Halls in London, attended by Tina Treadwell to celebrate the Drifters 50 year performing/recording career.  Tina and her family has owned The Drifters and managed them since 1953 and they will be launching their album 5 Decades and More in the next couple of months.

We have also been securing the venue for the video shoot of Gimme Gimme, which we are hoping to film before the end of the month.

The release date for Gimme Gimme has been put back to mid July, until the Video is complete, but you can still buy copies of the CD in stores.

Gimme Gimme played during a TV interview on Channel Four!!!

Yes you heard right!

SALSAWILD  one of Kent’s top Salsa Dance Classes in the South East, have been playing Gimme Gimme during their classes as part of the warm up. During one of their classes Channel Four interviewed two of their members for a documentary and the song was played whilst they were being filmed dancing.

Feb 07 Jahson takes part in a radio interview with Natty B on Choice FM, on the Reggae Show. During his visit at Choice FM , he gets to meet the Head of Music Kirk Anthony!

The interview date was put back a couple of weeks and is now due to be aired on Sunday 3rd March, live on Natty B’s Reggae Chart Show. The UK’s only official Reggae Chart show.

Dec 06 Jahson performed at the Gala Bingo as support to The Real Thing. A great night where he sold out of cds. He loved working with them.

Nov 06 Jahson performed for the Sanderson Centre Medway Hospital, a free show was given in aid of abused and underprivileged children, Over a £1,000 was raised.

Oct 06 Jahson performed at Rochester Castle as part of Black History Month Celebrations, with Medway African Caribbean Association. He also performed at the Brook Theatre with a live band at Medway’s first Young Black Achievers Awards for the association.
